2015 Autocross – 16th August
Loose Surface Auto Cross -16th August 2015
2015 will see Wexford Motor Club run a Loose Surface Autocross event after the success in 2014.
This event will take place on the 16th of August. Committee & Club member John Barry took up the challenge of organising the event for the club. John is much better known for rallying his red mini down the stages of the county. undaunted by his lack of experience John has found what is looking like the best possible venue to run a loose surface autocross.
He has set the venue as Conway’s Quarry outside the village of kildavan in the north of the county. The event will be based in Conway’s pub in Kildavan village with prise giving there after the event.
The quarry offers the competitor’s a lap of 1.8 klms on a very even surface which will be easily transversed in all type of competition cars.
The competitors will get three runs of 2 laps each. There will be a wide range of class’s for all size and type of cars.
This event will see a large entry because of the good surface on offer. It will bring out many of the special buggys designed to handle the surface and which will make for a great days entertainment.
Autocross offers great value to people looking to get into motor sport and is a great way to get started and to hone driving skill. It is a very cheap way to get started in motor sport and can be a stepping stone to progress to stages rallying for many people.
More details will be here closer to the event with a link to view a lap of the test.
We all look forward to a great weekend of Motorsport.
