Steve Wood has all but won the Wexford Volkswagon stages rally barring some accident or breakdown. We have more times in now and seem to be able to sort out drivers going missing etc. Richard Moore has appeared back on the timesheet, as has Liam Howlett, albeit way down the field. Most of the field have been given a nominal time after the stoppage on SS9, but Howlett seems to be carrying a time more than the nominal, maybe he was the hold up and he is the unfortunate loser in the stoppage, more on ...

The first batch of times are hitting us from the Blackwater test, Wood and Barrett match times but the changes seem to be happening behind them. Stephen McCann has gone ahead of Gary Kiernan into 3rd, McCann setting the fastest time here, and so far, we don’t have a time for Richard Moore. Early times in from SS7, Ian Barrett has taken 5″ back from Steve Wood on the opening test of the morning but still trails by 36″, a load more stages to sort things out during the day, the long Oylegate stage being a tasty finish to proceedings.
