Wood closes in the gap on McVeigh
It is getting closer at the top now as Steve Wood has pulled in a small bit of the gap between him and Paddy McVeigh. Enda O’Brien is still 3rd in his Escort but now has Gary Kiernan breathing down his neck only 7″ back in 4th. Adrian Hetherinton is comfortable in 5th if he can hold his gap on the final stage with Kevin Barrett over a full minute behind him in 6th. Just under half that gap separates Barrett and Michael Conlon, who in turn has 14″ to spare over Tomas Davies Patrick McHugh is only 4″back in 9th, with 10″ separating him and Richard Moore in 10th. The battle is really on here, there is hardly the width of a cigarette paper between Moore and Simon Reid in 11th, with Graham Scallan waiting another 12″ back if the battle for 10th ends up in tears.
