Regs open 21st July

Wexford Motor Club are delighted to announce provisional details for its 2-day Tarmac Rally running this September. Graham Scallan once again takes the helm as COC with the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally running on 13 and 14 September 2025. This year see’s the event move to a new base, the stunning Whites of Wexford, based in the heart of Wexford Town, while Wexford Volkswagen remain the title sponsor. The rally retains its much-loved format of 3×3 stages each day, totaling 215km over 2 days and 18 stages. Regulations have been approved and entries will open in in less than two weeks, on Monday 21 July.

For 2025, the event will see service based in Wexford Racecourse for the entirety of the weekend, with stages based in the South of the county for this year’s event. As has been the case for the past three years, the stages have been picked by active competitors with competitors wishes in mind. The team have focussed on selecting flowing stages with good surfaces and minimal need for chicanes. Stages are easily looped, making it possible to complete a full two-pass recce in one day. Sunday’s schedule has been devised with overseas and northern competitors in mind, allowing those with a long journey to get away as early as possible and home for a well-earned rest.

A €15,000 prize fund is in place for the 2025 rally which is split across the top overall crew, the top modified crew and also class winners. Classes will be split into 7 groups, with the winner of each group awarded a €1,000 prize, ensuring everyone has a chance of leaving Wexford with a nice prize!

As with previous years, a ceremonial start will be held in the centre of Wexford Town on the Friday evening, giving spectators and the public a chance to see these fantastic machines up close. The service crews work always starts well in advance of the Saturday stages, so with that in mind, a party event for the people who keep the cars ticking over all weekend will be held in the town while the drivers and co-drivers are getting some much needed rest! Sunday evening is the crews turn to party with a free BBQ for competitors in HQ, just a short walk from Parc Ferme on Sunday evening once the return from the last stage. It all builds to an electric atmosphere around the host town for 2025.
