Doherty with another fast stage time
Eddie Doherty is now leading the rally by 4.8s having set the fastest time on the Ballycullane stage. Michael Boyle’s cause is not being helped either by his Father, Declan, taking a further 1.1s out of the gap to 2nd place. The gap between the two is 10.6s, which Declan must reckon is catchable, but 15.4s to the leader will be hard to make up over the next 13 stages, but then again, you never say never. Daniel Cronin has opened out a bit more of a gap back to James Stafford, who in turn has Gary Kiernan getting that little bit closer. Mathew Boyle has lost a bit of ground on Kiernan with Shane Quinn and Aidan Wray both having leap frogged Casey Jay Coleman to have these three rounding out the top 10.
