The cars are in, Wood is spraying the champers

Steve Wood has become the Wexford Volkswagon Stages rally for 2016 after bringing his Subaru home safely over the last two stages. With a healthy advantage over Enda O’Brien, he managed to drive a a pace fast enough to stay on the money concentration wise, but slowing ever so slightly to not risk any last minute accident and ruin two days hard graft. He will now become one of the select few overseas crews that have taken the win in Wexford following the likes of Geoff Kitney, Damian Cole and a small few other that have taken the ferry over and gone back with a winners trophy. In a rally that has had four different leaders over the weekend, Wood was the one to make sure he was the one that had the lead at the finish and that was when it mattered. Enda O’Brien hung on and battled and took a great 2nd place ahead of Adrian Hetherington. Kevin Barrett, Michael Conlon and Tomas Davies took the next three places as they had for most of the second day. Richard Moore almost took 6th place only falling 4″ of Davies after 16 hard stages. Wesley Patterson, Neil Hickey & Wayne Evans finished out the top ten.
