SS1 under way

In a rally that the one thing we know that we are going to have a first time winner for the first time in donkeys years, Enda O’Brien’s Escort is setting the fastest pace on the Oldcourt test being the only car so far under 10 minutes. He has a 7″ advantage over the Subaru of Steve Wood, who in turn has a 1″ advantage over Paddy McVeigh and Gary Kiernan. These two cannot be separated even by a coat of paint. Adrian Hetherington, with local man Gary Nolan on the notes, and Liam Howlett take up local interest in the next two places, Howlett tied on time with David Condell, with Kevin Barrett and Michael Conlon tied for 8th, Wesley Patterson rounds out the top 10, only 3 seconds back. The top 10 is only covered by 29″, a tight rally ahead methinks.
