Michael Boyle closing in on the win
Michael Boyle seems to be closing in on the win at the Wexford Volkswagon Wexford stages rally. He is down as matching Eddie Doherty on SS15, but seems to have lost 2s from the lead, which was 8s on the previous stage, the mind boggles. When I get the better of the counting frame in results, I’ll get back to you!! Daniel Cronin looks like a shoe in for 3rd, he has moved 30s clear of Matthew Boyle in 4th, increasing that gap by 6.7s on the stage. Aiden Wray, Shane Quinn and Casey Jay Coleman in 5th, 6th & 7th respectively were all quicker than Matthew Boyle, but have too much to do for any of them to overtake 4th but the Wray/Quinn battle for 5th might still have legs in it. Andrew Purcell is in 8th, with the now charging James Stafford in 9th 42.5s in arrears. Can Stafford catch Purcell, that’s a valid question, Stafford was 16.3s quicker on the stage, so maybe ,just maybe. Cal McCarthy is in 10th, but showing equal time on the timesheet, either way, he was 9s slower than Stafford on this pass, I’m getting the ball frame back out of the cupboard just in case!!
