Wood leads after SS6, McVeigh now in 2nd

Steve Wood now leads Paddy McVeigh after SS6 as Enda O’Brien has slipped down to 3rd. Hi Escort is now sporting a remodeled front left wing after an off on SS5, or as his co-driver called it, “a beer stain”. Some of the cars are showing a little impromptu reshaping due to the day improving and the stages getting faster, Richard Moore’s car showing damage on the rear right wing. Gary Kiernan has now given himself a bit of clear air between himself in 4th and Adrian Hetherington in 5th, who is 11″ ahead of Kevin Barrett who has almost the same gap back to Michael Conlon. Wesley Patterson is back by another similar gap from Conlon and is 4″ clear of Tomas Davies with Patrick McHugh 6″ adrift in 10th. Simon Reid is in 11th, 2″ clear of Graham Scallan and the afore mentioned Richard Moore. Scallan wasn’t without his dramas, his throttle pedal broke during a stage and is now held together with galvaband and tech screws borrowed from a spectator at the end of the stage, necessity was definitely the mother of invention there.
