Terrance Taggart has repeated the same feat as brother Martin to claim the Courtown Hotel Single Stage Rally, benefiting in exactly the same fashion after leader David James suffered catastrophe on the final stage.

The affable Goreyman had crashed out on the final stage of last year's Lighthouse Rally in Courtown, gifting a win to Armagh's Martin Taggart for the Northerner's first win of the year.

Twelve months on, and it's a feeling of deja vu as James suffered a last leg accident, a splattering of oil rendering virtually blind his view from the front windscreen.

As the number one seed spun near the death, the big brother of last year's winner was left in for his first win of the Millennium year - a surprise, but welcome, end to Terrance Taggart's 2000.

It was more heartbreak for James - but this time on his own patch.
