A novel award is to be presented to the final competitor of the final tarmac rally of the millenium.

The Wexford Motor Club has created a special prize, which will be presneted to the final competitor who hands in a time card, making them the final competitor in a tarmac rally in the nineteen-something-somethings.

Backed by Hotel Naomh Seosamh, in association with Hook Tourism, the event has already attracted a capacity entry with Gorey car dealer David James top seed, and South-East Rally Championship winner John Treacy of Clonmel, seeded second.

It's still not known if the new trophy will be awarded perpetually....
