The Wexford motor club holds it latest event of the year when the club head to the old Irish Sugar beet factory facility in Wellington-bridge for the second club auto-test of the year this Sunday, October 7th. The event see’s drivers pit their skills against each other on a tight course where speed and perfection are the name of the game. An auto test consists of a course where drivers have to memorise a course consisting of many difficult manoeuvres that sees drivers spin, reverse and stop at markers laid out by the officials.

The event is one of the most enjoyable of the year, very laid back and great fun. And if you think you can beat the clubs best, why not come along, as one-day licences are available for members of the public who do not hold a competition licence, subject to conditions. Also, car requirements are fairly basic and if your not to worried about giving your day-to-day car a bit of hardship, there’s even a production class in the event!

Scrutiny for the event starts at eleven o’ clock, with the first of the runs kicking off at twelve. Entries will be available on the morning of the event from the event secretary. No doubt there will be some interesting sights around, from auto-test specials to nimble Starlets, and not so nimble Sierra’s and BMW’s! If you’re at a loose end this Sunday feel free to pop down and see these guys amaze you with their amazing car control, and some with not such amazing car control! One things for sure, it’ll be a laugh. For any information on the event, please contact event Clerk of the Course Pat Caufield on 087 252 4113 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
