Saturday 10th September
Stephen Murphy is marching relentlessly on to his seventh Wexford win having a lead of 39 seconds after today's four stages. He admits that the car is at it's ease on the wexford stages and is performing flawlessly. David Long is also happy to be in the second place that he will bring into tomorrow's nine stages. He didn't think he would be in a podium position going into the second day.
PJ McGrath is also happy with the day's work as his group n Subaru is going as well as expected, Gabriel Martin being happier having over taken him. One driver that is not so happy is Noel Redmond, his arabic registered Lancer being way down on power against cars in the same class.
There is a battle royal brewing among the Escort drivers, with a rather large smile on David James' face as he leads the battle.
On the local front just outside the top ten, James M and James F Stafford are complaining about oil getting in to the clutch, causing slip. They hope that the offending seal can be replaced at some stage. With a better forcast for tomorrow, I think we will have some superb battles in store!!
