Murphy leads by 20 seconds

A home for the bewildered

Report 4. Saturday night, sometime late!!!

If you think that rallies run smoothly and there are no hitches, then forget it!!! as you may be aware, we have had more than our fair share of woes, weather, timing clock gremlins and also computer gremlins. Ron and George have been literally hairless trying to get results to go on line. While the dust is settling in cyberspace, we have decided to help out by putting these scanned pages of results on-line.

The big change that has come about in the rally is that Stephen Murphy now is in his seeded position, first. It seems his hot pace over the third section was not let down by SS6. The time we originally though that he had was 30sec over his actual time, putting him 12sec to the good going in to the last two stages rather than 18sec down.Melvyn Evans now seems safe in third. All the rest of the top 10 are now spaced apart by gaps of 7sec minimum, with some gaps of over a minute. The biggest name to drop before the overnight halt is Steve Hendy, despite recording some decent times, he did not post any times for the last two stages of the day.

The provisional top 10 after SS8 is as follows

1 1 Stephen Murphy/Micky Joe Morrisey 52'49"
2 3 Donie O'Sullivan/Paul Nangle 53'09"
3 4 Melvyn Evans/Martin Henry 53'57"
4 18 Richie Curran/Gerry English 55'06"
5 6 John Price/Caroline Price 55'13"
6 5 Steve Fleck/Nigel Gardner 56'19"
7 21 David James/Jim Crowe 56'50"
8 36 PJ McGrath/Damien Morrisey 56'59"
9 26 Liam Wall/Bob Kelly 57'32"
10 12 John Cope/Tony Cope 57'39"
