Eamonn Boland proved unstoppable throughout the rally, but who were the class acts of the first Wexford event to be staged under the Dick Bailey banner? Tim Ball in his cute canary Darrian came fourth to win Class 13, with David James a spectacular second in that category, and a remarkable sixth overall. Fair to say that both men performed well beyond the call of duty. Fifth-placed John Price claimed Class 15, Aaron McHale's Mitsubishi Lancer was top of the tree in Class 4, with Derek Smith's Escort taking the Class 14 honours, Tim Wilson grabbed Class 8 and the O'Rourke combination of Tomás and John did more than enough to secure Class 3.
