| It can be officially confirmed that an accident involving members of the public did occur on the opening stage of the Wexford Rally. Various details of the incident have been reported in the national media over the past hour or so - however, due to some inaccurate detail contained within those reports, an official statement will be made by Wexford Motor Club and Motorsport Ireland at 7pm this evening. The statement will be made available on this website after nine.
