And they're off! Top seed David James has thundered from the starting archway outside Hotel Naomh Seosamh in Fethard to get the 2002 Fethard-on-Sea Rally underway. A large crowd gathered outside the hotel to watch the 131-strong field depart en route to get a feel of the testing 10-mile course near Ramsgrange. The first stage officially gets underway at 12:30pm. Conditions remain dry, so the fear that most crews had last night of needing slicks has not come to pass.
