Home James?
Fethard Rally Report 15

David James must have been clock-watching as he completed the second stage of the Fethard-on-Sea Rally - he's replicated his first stage 9'06" on the second stage. With his nearest competitor, local man Liam Wall, apparently losing an engine, James has extended his lead to what looks an uncatchable 29 seconds. Is it tempting fate to say that he will eventually lay his last-stage bogey that has hit too often over the past two and a half years. With nobody within half a minute of him, and able to go below 9'15" in a stage, James can afford to take notice of the gravel that is causing a lot of strain on tyres and engines today. The slight drizzle that threatened to fall has now stopped - but whether this has been any heavier on the stage remains to be seen.
