Hundreds came out to witness this morning's seeing-off of the leading contendors from Rosslare's Crosbie Cedars Hotel, with thousands viewing the opening stage. Here are some of the main views of the morning, as captured by the lens of our man JD.

Sean McArdle of the Orchard County harversted a slender lead on the opening stage - can he hang on with so many ravenous Northerners chasing him?

County Down's finest, Peadar Hurson, enjoyed a successful opening stage - he was only a second off the pace set by Sean McArdle by stage's end.
