Pieter Tsjoen has won the Tour of Flanders, enjoying a vital 5'23" advantage at the end over fellow Belgian Joost Boxoen. Tsjoen, driving a Toyota Corolla WRC, was in control throughout, with Boxoen in a Subaru Impreza gaining his biggest boost of the afternoon when Eamonn Boland slumped out after suffering clutch problems. The Wexfordman was leading Irishman, and was just 30 seconds behind Boxoen after 17 of the 22 Special Stages.

Xavier Bouche claimed third - good enough to earn him the Group N crown ahead of Roy White and Michael Patterson in seventh overall, with Brendan Kelly and Rory Kennedy finishing ninth overall and third in Group N.
